World Cafe ‘Big Conversation’

MU1

World Café at our Co-Production Meet-up 1 in Rhyl, 15 July 15 2013

Fran and Pam are both passionate about the World Café and how it can provide a unique space for ‘conversations that matter’ to take place. In addition, the importance of having a visual facilitator to capture the discussions, stories and future actions. At ‘Communities Can 2012’ we held a World Café with 250 people in 4 discussion zones. Fran has led many World Cafés and also adaptations customise to the event, group, timing or aims. More examples are here.

The World Café technique and the questioning work on multiple levels, and it provides an equal space for people contribute in the way they want to – AND IT IS ALL RECORDED.
Drawing on seven integrated design principles, the World Café methodology is a simple, effective, and flexible format for hosting large group dialogue. World Café can be modified to meet a wide variety of needs. Specifics of context, numbers, purpose, location, and other circumstances are factored into each event’s unique invitation, design, and question choice.
