What: Half Day event with Denbighshire Social Services Team
Where: Town Hall, Denbigh.
When: 2 May 2012
Who: Denbighshire County Council.
Denbighshire County Council held a half day event to present their ‘5 Year Strategy’ based the NEF FIVE Ways to Well-Being – a set of evidence-based actions which promote people’s wellbeing. They are: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice,Keep Learning and Give. These activities are simple things individuals can do in their everyday lives.
We co-designed and facilitated the event, comprising of:
- Visual minutes maps created live, of the Heads of Social Services & Leisure
- Led a World Café of large discussion groups having ‘conversations that matter’ capturing their ideas on table-sheets
- Created a 12 foot wall vision map for participants to contribute their views and ideas
- These outcomes were became commnunication tools, and evidence for future actions, they scanned/photographed and shared in a review document and presentation for team members unable to attend.
In the afternoon Fran also led a half day visual facilitation training workshop, where 22 people stayed instead of the 20 booked in, as the morning event had been so engaging!
Post-event Fran created an engagement toolkit consisting of a blank vision map template in 2 sections (1.2 x 1.4 each) with 5 flipchart posters communicating the 5 Ways. Craig and his team used these to consult with council team and increase their evidence.
